Michael Zdon MD

• Dr. Michael Zdon is a retired general surgeon located in Long Grove IL with subspecialties in endocrine surgery, trauma surgery, and surgical critical care. He completed his surgery residency at the University of Kansas School of Medicine from 1979 to 1984, after graduating from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in 1979. Dr. Zdon has experience in endocrine, general/gastrointestinal, trauma, and acute care surgeries. His research includes publications on surgical education, Gastrointestinal Hormones, cellular mechanisms of gastric parietal cell secretion, inflammatory responses in septic rats, and the malignancy of thyroid neoplasms, with multiple citations in the field. He is recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
  
  Dr Zdon has served as Senior Associate Dean for Graduate and Continuing Medical Education, DIO and Chair of Surgery at Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science where he has been full time faculty since 1988 and where he is Professor Emeritus of Surgery.
