Summary

  • Naina Mehta, M.D. is a board certified Neurodevelopmental Pediatrician, certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She specializes in the treatment of developmental disorders in children such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, which is her main area of expertise.
She received her fellowship training at The Childrens’ Hospital of Philadelphia in 1994 and has been working since that time, seeing a vast number of children with a wide variety of developmental conditions. Initially whilst working with The Childrens’ Medical Services she provided care to the underserved population in Orlando. More recently, as the medical director of the Behavioral and Developmental center of Arnold Palmer hospital, a center which she set up and worked with for the past 5 years, she provided training to medical students, nurse practitioners and physician residents.

With almost 30 years of experience in this field she continues to be a compassionate provider who is willing to listen and give time to each and every patient. She offers a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation for the younger child where there are concerns for Autism Spectrum Disorder and will provide a personalized recommendation that is tailored to her patients’ individual needs. She can also provide feedback through telepsychiatry, in the comfort and privacy of your home.

Early diagnosis and initiation of therapy early is of utmost importance during this early period of brain development in children. Studies have shown the benefits of early ABA therapy on the future outcome of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder with reversal of the many symptoms seen allowing the child to progress on the natural path for future educational services.
