• Dr. Nicolas S. Piuzzi is an internationally recognized orthopaedic surgeon, clinician-scientist, and academic leader specializing in adult hip and knee reconstruction at Cleveland Clinic. He serves as Vice Chair of Research for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and leads enterprise-wide orthopaedic research across Cleveland, Florida, and London.
  
  As Director of the Cleveland Clinic Adult Joint Reconstruction Research (CCARR) group and Co-Director of the Musculoskeletal Research Center (MSRC), Dr. Piuzzi oversees one of the nation’s most productive arthroplasty research programs, integrating translational and clinical science. His research focuses on musculoskeletal tissue preservation, repair, regeneration, and replacement, advancing personalized and evidence-based orthopaedic surgery.
  
  Clinically, Dr. Piuzzi performs more than 450 complex primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasties annually, incorporating robotics, custom implants, and biologic innovations to optimize outcomes. He has authored over 500 peer-reviewed publications, delivered invited lectures worldwide, and received multiple national and international awards, including the AAOS/OREF/ORS Clinician Scholar Career Development Award, the OREF/CCJR Clinical Practice Award, and the 2025 AAOS Kappa Delta Young Investigator Award.
