Summary
- Dr. Nihal Bakeer received her medical degree from the University of Jordan in Amman, Jordan in 2006 and subsequently completed a transitional specialized Pediatric Hematology, Oncology residency at the King Hussein Cancer Center in Amman. In 2009, Dr. Bakeer joined Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio where she completed her residency in Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine and her fellowship in Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation.
Between 2015 and 2023 Dr. Bakeer served as a Pediatric Hematologist at the Indiana Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center (IHTC) and an Assistant Clinical Professor at the School of Osteopathic Medicine, Marian University in Indianapolis, Indiana. In 2024, Dr. Bakeer joined the division of hematology at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Bakeer has a special interest in hemostasis, thrombosis and point-of-care musculoskeletal ultrasound in hemophilia. She is an active member of the International Pediatric Stroke Organization, International Pediatric Stroke Study, CHAT consortium and International Prophylaxis Study Group-imaging subcommittee.
