• Rachel Karbowski, MS, APN is an advanced practice nurse, board certified by ANCC as a Family Psychiatric/Mental-Health Nurse Practitioner and is licensed in the state of New Jersey. Rachel graduated with a Master of Science from Rutgers University, College of Nursing. Rachel has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in acute inpatient, outpatient, and residential settings. Rachel provides psychiatric evaluations, medication monitoring services, and brief psychotherapy while collaborating with members of the client's interdisciplinary health care team. Rachel's nursing practice is based on the tenant that clients are distinct individuals who learn self care and dependent care within a socio-cultural context. Education of potential health problems is provided in order to promote self-care behaviors, enabling clients to become self-reliant and responsible for their own care and that of their family. Attaining universal and developmental self-care requisites is paramount in primary care prevention and treatment.
