- Dr. Robert Golden is a psychiatrist based in Madison, WI. He graduated cum laude with distinction in psychology from Yale College and received his MD from Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his residency and chief residency in psychiatry at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, followed by a research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Golden is Emeritus Dean of the School of Medicine and Public Health and Emeritus Vice Chancellor for Medical Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Professor of Psychiatry. He has published more than 260 papers and book chapters. His national leadership roles have included Chair of the Board of the Association of Academic Health Centers, Vice-Chair of the Board of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and President of the American College of Psychiatrists. He received the Mood Disorders Research Award from the American College of Psychiatrists and an honorary degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin, as well as distinguished alumnus awards from Boston University School of Medicine and University of North Carolina School of Medicine.
