Summary

  • Dr. Owen is an internist and gastroenterologist with a special interest in infectious disease and epidemiology. He was previously in the Epidemic Intelligence Service at the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta and has been at the San Francisco VA Medical Center in various capacities since his medical residency. As a VA staff physician he delivers outpatient primary care and performs C&P examinations with emphasis on digestive disorder claims and appeals cases. He is the Environmental Health Physician in charge of the Agent Orange, Persian Gulf and Ionizing Radiation Registry programs at his VA Medical Center. He is also Professor of Medicine at the University of California San Francisco and supervises the 4th year UCSF gastroenterology elective at the VA.
