Dr. Hasan received his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from Northwestern University and his MD and PhD in biomedical engineering from Vanderbilt University. He completed orthopaedic residency at Rush University in Chicago followed by shoulder and elbow fellowships with Dr Rick Matsen at the University of Washington in Seattle and with Dr. Gary Gartsman at the Texas Orthopaedic Hospital in Houston. In 2000, he joined Dr. Frank Noyes and colleagues at Cincinnati Sportsmedicine. Dr. Hasan is associate director of the Cincinnati Sportsmedicine Fellowship and co-director of the Cincinnati Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship and has mentored nearly 100 orthopaedic subspecialists. Dr. Hasan is an Active Member of American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES), including the Neer Circle, Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) and the American Orthopaedic Association (AOA). Dr. Hasan is a long-time member of the editorial boards of Arthroscopy and of Orthopedics Today and has served as Section Director for the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery - K+ Shoulder and Elbow Learning Module since 2016. He recently concluded 3 consecutive terms as co-director of the ASES Education Committee. Dr. Hasan has given over 300 invited lectures on 4 continents, authored nearly 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts and book chapters, and co-edited two monographs. He is a consultant and seed investor for multiple orthopaedic and rehabilitation companies, leveraging his engineering background. He is also a shoulder and elbow consultant for Teladoc and has been named a Castle Connolly Top Doctor for 5 years. He currently serves as Chief of Orthopaedics at The Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio and directs the musculoskeletal service line for 6 BonSecours-MercyHealth hospitals across Greater Cincinnati.
