  • Dr. Lee graduated as the top student of his medical school class of 230 graduates in 1984, received his ophthalmology training at the University of Florida and completed his surgical retinal training at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School in 1993. He has been awarded a Gold Medal for academic work at the International Congress of Ophthalmology and has been Clinical Assistant Professor at University of California San Francisco, Associate Examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology and President of the East Bay Ophthalmological Society. Dr. Lee is Board-certified in Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has been voted by his ophthalmology peers as one of the “Best Doctors in America” for many years since 2001. Dr. Lee has published numerous scientific articles on retinal diseases in various ophthalmology journals and textbooks. Dr. Lee specializes in the treatment of diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusion, retinal tears and detachments. His research interests are wide-field fluorescein and indocyanine green angiography of the retina and high resolution optical coherence tomography and microangiography of the macula.
