    Dr. Shannon Clark is a neurosurgeon at Sentara Health System and Associate Professor in the Department of Neurology at Eastern Virginia Medical School (EVMS), where she is actively involved in the training and education of neurology residents.



    She built and currently leads the Level 4 Epilepsy Surgery Program and Deep Brain Stimulation program at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital — the flagship hospital of the Sentara Health System — establishing one of the region's most comprehensive functional neurosurgery programs.



    Her clinical practice spans a broad range of complex cranial procedures, including SEEG, RNS, DBS, VNS, LITT, MR-guided Focused Ultrasound (MRgFUS), open epilepsy surgery, and awake craniotomy. She also manages brain and spinal tumors and pain-related neurosurgical conditions, offering patients access to both established and emerging surgical technologies within a high-acuity, multidisciplinary environment.



    Dr. Clark completed her medical training at the University of South Florida College of Medicine and her neurological surgery residency at Sidney Kimmel Medical College (2010–2017). She has authored peer-reviewed publications that have garnered significant citations, reflecting an ongoing commitment to advancing neurosurgical practice through research.
