- Dr. Stephanie Y. Chen is a board-certified otolaryngologist and native Texan. After growing up in Austin, she completed her undergraduate degree in Piano Performance at The Juilliard School while taking classes at Columbia University through the Columbia-Juilliard Exchange. While there, she discovered her passion for medicine. After graduating, she completed a post-baccalaureate premedical program at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Chen obtained her medical degree at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons before completing residency training in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at Washington University in St. Louis. She then completed a year of advanced fellowship training in head and neck surgical oncology and microvascular reconstruction at Emory University prior to returning to Texas.
Dr. Chen maintains broad clinical interests and practices within the full breadth of the specialty. She is passionate about caring for patients with benign and malignant head and neck masses, salivary gland disorders, thyroid and parathyroid disorders, allergy and sinus complaints, and obstructive sleep apnea including hypoglossal nerve stimulator implantation. She also has a particular interest in minimally invasive transoral robotic surgery for the appropriate patients.
