- Stephen M. Smith, M.D. is a practicing infectious diseases specialist with more than 30 years of clinical and research experience. A graduate of the Yale School of Medicine, he completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Virginia Medical Center and St. Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, followed by a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), NIH. He later conducted research at the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center (ADARC).
Dr. Smith is the Founder and Executive Director of the Smith Center for Infectious Diseases & Urban Health, a nonprofit clinic in East Orange, New Jersey, supported in part by the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program. He receives no personal remuneration from the Center.
