- Dr. Susan C. Shin is Chief of the Division of Neuromuscular Medicine at Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health and board certified in Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology, Neuromuscular Medicine, and Neuromuscular Ultrasound. She completed neurology residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital, where she served as Chief Resident, and previously held faculty positions at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai as Associate Professor of Neurology and Director of the Neuromuscular Medicine Fellowship Program.
Dr. Shin's clinical expertise encompasses the full spectrum of neuromuscular disorders, including myasthenia gravis, CIDP, ALS, muscular dystrophies, hereditary neuropathies, metabolic myopathies, and inflammatory myopathies. She participates in a multidisciplinary ALS clinic and MDA Care Center, integrating electrodiagnostic testing and neuromuscular ultrasound with detailed clinical assessment.
An active clinical trials investigator and educator, Dr. Shin has received the A.B. Baker Teacher Recognition Award from the American Academy of Neurology and the Tauba and Pedro Pasik Award for Teaching Excellence in Neuroscience. She is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Her research focuses on neuromuscular ultrasound applications to improve diagnostic accuracy in neuromuscular medicine.
