- Dr. Suzanne M. Edmunds graduated from the Keck School of Medicine of USC in 1989. She completed her pediatric residency at Kaiser Permanente Southern California in 1992 and a fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at UCLA in 1995.
Dr. Edmunds was an Associate Professor in the departments of Pediatrics and Anesthesiology at Wake Forest Baptist Health from 2004 until 2020. She was very active in undergraduate medical education at Wake Forest School of Medicine. Her publications include a case study on ethanol ingestion in a pediatric patient and a curriculum for personal librarians, both of which have been cited in other academic works.
Following a health crisis in 2019, Dr. Edmunds stepped down from her position and shifted her focus to holistic health. She completed training in medical acupuncture through the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine.
Dr. Edmunds opened her practice, “Acupuncture Energetics” in Winston Salem, NC, in 2022. Treating a wide variety of conditions, she specializes in assisting patients with painful conditions find relief through acupuncture. She remains involved with the "Acumed" course as a Teaching Assistant, helping train physicians and other medical professionals in acupuncture techniques.
