Overview of  Dr. Khakoo

Dr. Yasmin Khakoo is a New York-based specialist in child neurology with extensive experience in pediatric neuro-oncology, medical education, and medical writing. She completed her medical degree at Columbia University and pursued fellowships in child neurology at the University of California, San Francisco, and in neuro-oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where she currently serves as the Child Neurology Director and Pediatric Onconeurologist. She is the current President of the Child Neurology Society. She served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Pediatric Neurology Journal from Jan 2022-Dec 2025, and is currently EIC Emerita. Her work has been published in several medical journals, and she has received multiple awards, including recognition as one of New York Magazine's Best Doctors, the CNS Arnold P. Gold Humanism in Medicine Award, the A.B. Baker Teacher Recognition Award and the CBTF Compassionate Care Award. Dr. Khakoo is actively involved in clinical trials and research on Neurocutaneous melanocytosis, opsoclonus myoclonus ataxia syndrome and the neurologic complications of pediatric cancer. She is recognized for her work in education and DEI.
