Summary

• Dr. Binita Shah is Distinguished Professor Emerita of Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics and Director Emerita of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at SUNY Downstate/Kings County Hospital Center. She completed her Pediatric residency and fellowship in Pediatric Ambulatory care at SUNY Downstate/Kings County in 1980. She is a graduate of Baroda Medical College, M.S. University. She has authored several publications in Peer-reviewed Pediatric journals and written many chapters in the Pediatric books. She is nationally and internationally known for her books: Atlas of Pediatric Clinical Diagnosis published by W.B. Saunders; 2000 and Atlas of Pediatric Emergency Medicine; 3rd edition published by McGraw-Hill Co.; 2019. These books are also translated into Portuguese and Spanish. Dr. Binita Shah was bestowed upon the highest academic rank of Distinguished Professor of Emergency Medicine and Pediatrics in 2013 by SUNY board of trustees; Albany honoring her mastery of teaching. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and served as an AAP NCE faculty doing presentations at the national AAP conferences. She still travels nationally and internationally delivering presentations on Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergencies at the CME conferences and AAP regional meetings.
