- David Goldenberg, MD, FACS, is a Head and Neck Surgical Oncologist. He was educated at Ben Gurion University in Israel, before completing a residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Rambam Medical Center in Haifa, Israel. Dr. Goldenberg went on to pursue a three-year fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery and Oncology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. He currently holds the position of Kristen Olewine Milke Professor and Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Penn State Health and Penn State College of Medicine.
Dr. Goldenberg balances a busy surgical practice with teaching and research. His clinical practice specializes in head and neck cancers, thyroid cancers, parathyroid disease, and radiofrequency ablation of thyroid nodules. His clinical research focuses on the outcomes and etiology behind the rising incidence of thyroid cancer. In addition, his basic research lab concentrates on thyroid cancer genomics in familial non-medullary thyroid cancer and radiation-induced thyroid cancer.
An accomplished and prolific author, Dr. Goldenberg has written over 275 journal articles, 40 book chapters, and 8 books in the field of head and neck and thyroid oncology and surgery. His latest book, The Handbook of Otolaryngology: Head and Neck Surgery, 3rd Edition (Elsevier), is widely regarded as the most comprehensive reference work in the field.
