  • I'm the former Chief of the Rehabilitation Department at New York Presbyterian-Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, and former Assistant Professor of Clinical Rehabilitation Medicine at Weill Cornell Department of Rehabilitation Medicine.

    I am board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Brain Injury Medicine, and Lifestyle Medicine. My current clinical practice is focused around Neuro-rehabilitation and Lifestyle Medicine.

    My prior professional position included being the Medical Director of the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (IRU) and the outpatient Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Program at New York Presbyterian-Columbia University Medical Center, as well as Assistant Professor of Clinical Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Columbia University. My academic interest includes the use of Lifestyle Medicine in stroke management and prevention as well as in other chronic diseases.

    I have additional certifications in Health Coaching, Yoga teacher Training (with a focus of using yoga in the stroke population), and obesity management.

    I am an award winning speaker, the author of the Amazon best-seller "Lifestyle Medicine Rx: 101 Ways to Transform Your Health and Life," and host of the radio show and podcast "Health Talk with Dr Diane Thompson." I have also authored several journals and I am also the founder of Lifestyle Medicine University.
