Summary
- I am a practicing cardiothoracic surgeon with over 30 years' experience in adult cardiac - revascularization, valves, thoracic aorta; heart, heart-lung, and lung transplantation; mechanical circulatory support; TAVR; and general thoracic - lung, mediastinum and chest wall surgery. I continue with particular interest in quality improvement initiatives, heart team approach, geriatric cardiac surgery, and education. My activity has included contributing questions both for the American Board of Surgery Qualifying Examination for many years and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery Self-Assessment in Thoracic Surgery, I have served as the Annual Scientific Sessions Chair for the American College of Cardiology and as a Past President of both the Eastern Cardiothoracic Surgical Society and the Philadelphia Academy of Surgery. I currently serve on the Society of Thoracic Surgeons Database Taskforce on Quality Initiatives, and the American College of Cardiology Lifelong Learning Oversight Committee where I also served as Chair of the Surgeons Leadership Council.
