Summary
- I'm a Gastroenterology Fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital. I'm a graduate of the Internal Medicine/Stanbury Physician-Scientist Pathway Resident Physician at Massachusetts General Hospital. I'm particularly interested in genomic medicine, personalized healthcare, human genetics, and functional genomics in gastroenterology. My current research focus is on how genetic, epigenetic, and environmental factors influence the development of gastrointestinal dysplasia and malignancy.
I'm an alumnus of the MD, PhD program at the University of Utah School of Medicine. I have my PhD in Human Genetics (Lynn Jorde Lab). The primary focus of my research included population genetics and genomics. Specifically, I studied the genetic mechanisms that have allowed Tibetan populations to adapt to a high altitude environment. I also did work investigating how genetic risk factors play a role in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis pathogenesis and other clinical disorders.
