Summary
- My career goal is to be an Otolaryngologist scientist who applies advances in the basic and clinical neurosciences to improve the diagnosis and treatment of hearing disorders. This goal has been shaped by my combined clinical and research experiences as an MSTP trainee in the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and by my undergraduate research training at Vassar College and The Rockefeller University. My clinical experiences have shaped and matured my understanding of the needs of patients suffering from conditions such as hearing loss, hyperacusis and tinnitus, among others, and my research activities have provided me with the critical thinking skills and technical expertise necessary to investigate the neurobiological underpinnings of these conditions in the laboratory.
