Summary

This practice is very specialised to providing consultation and care to multi-organ system auto-immune and inflammatory diseases with a focus on connective tissue diseases for which cardiopulmonary or vital organ involvement (such as interstitial lung disease and pulmonary hypertension) are high risk. This includes scleroderma, myositis diseases like dermatomyositis, and sarcoidosis. It also includes when diseases like rheumatoid arthritis involves the lung and screening people with interstitial lung disease, pulmonary fibrosis or pulmonary hypertension for the presence of an underlying autoimmune disease.

The specialised practice that serves patients across the Southeast region of the US and encourages concurrent care with general and local rheumatologists, pulmonologists and cardiologists. Entry to this clinic is triaged by disease severity in order to get the highest risk patients seen as soon as is possible.
