Dr. McElderry holds the rank of Associate Professor of Medicine at The University of Alabama Birmingham and is the G. Neal Kay Endowed Professor in Clinical Electrophysiology. He received his MD degree from The University of South Carolina. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Wake Forrest University Bowman Gray School of Medicine, did his Cardiology Fellowship at The University of Kentucky, and his Cardiac Electrophysiology training at The University of Alabama Birmingham. He then joined the faculty in 2005 and became Section Chief in 2012. Dr. McElderry’s clinical and research interest interests include catheter ablation of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators, and device extraction.
