Dr. William Donahoo is an endocrinologist based in Gainesville, FL, with subspecialties in diabetes, lipid metabolism, and obesity. He graduated from the University of Colorado School of Medicine Anschutz Medical Campus in 1991, followed by a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism as well as a residency in internal medicine at the same institution. He currently serves as an Associate Professor at UF Health. Dr. Donahoo's expertise includes dyslipidemia, diabetes, bariatric surgery, and obesity. His recent publications explore continuous glucose monitoring, preoperative GLP-1 RA use, and associations of GLP-1 receptor agonists with cancer risk, among other topics. His research involvement extends to clinical trials on caloric restriction and diet composition. His honors and awards include acknowledgments from The Obesity Society and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, among others.
