- Ben Elsbernd, MD is a gastroenterologist with clinical expertise in esophageal disorders including esophageal motility disorders, gastroesophageal reflux, eosinophilic esophagitis, and Barrett's esophagus. He completed his residency and fellowship training at UT Southwestern Medical Center. During his fellowship he participated in the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society Clinical Training Program at Washington University in St. Louis. He joined UT Southwestern and the Dallas VA in 2020 as an Assistant Professor where his practice centers around care for veterans at the Dallas Veteran Affairs Medical Center. There he performs all esophageal function testing and sees patients in an esophageal specialty clinic along with treating general GI conditions.
He has been recognized for his outstanding clinical teaching and serves as an Associate Program Director for the gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship at UT Southwestern. He additionally has multiple publications revolving around esophageal diseases.
