Dr. Dean Chou is a neurosurgeon specializing in complex spine surgery, located in New York, NY. He obtained his medical degree at the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine, undertook his residency in neurological surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, and completed a complex spine fellowship at the Barrow Neurological Institute. Currently, he is the Bennett M. Stein Professor of Neurosurgery, the Chief of the Spine Division, and Vice Chair of Neurosurgery at Columbia University. He was previously Professor of Neurosurgery and Orthopedics at the University of California San Francisco. His expertise includes scoliosis, deformities, tumors, degenerative conditions, and minimally invasive spine surgery. Dr. Chou has participated in clinical trials and has received awards, including the CMS Meaningful Use Stage 1 Certification. He is board certified and is a Fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.
